Who We Are

“The Rita June Foundation is named after my grandmother who instilled in me the importance of family and the need to give back.”

– Lisa Dischinger, Rita June Foundation Chair

The Rita June Foundation

The Rita June Foundation, named after the late grandmother of LDG Foundation Chair Lisa Dischinger, is focused on supporting education and providing additional resources to those living within communities throughout Kentucky and nationwide.

Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Rita June was an empathetic, caring, and loving woman who was always ready to help those in need. She often volunteered at her church, First Resurrection, and at Guardian Angel, making rosaries and vestments and sewing clothing for the funerals of Appalachian children.

Education and community were important to Rita June. She and her husband created a safe place for all who entered their home. Because of them and their family, it has been possible for many to receive a better education and live better lives.

The Foundation’s passion lies in enriching lives and fostering vibrant communities nationwide. It empowers individuals and families to make a lasting difference and ensures they can continue to love and enjoy their homes.
